Meet Stephanie Wilkins, CNC

Hi there. I’m Stephanie,
your personal wellness educator

I’m very excited to meet you! First and foremost, I am a wife, to the love of my life. My husband, Joe and I have been married for 39 wonderful years and I am a mom to two, amazing adult children.

As a Certified Nutrition Consultant (CNC), and wellness educator, my passion is chronic disease prevention. Currently, I provide this service though nutrition, lifestyle management and wellness education.

As well, I’ve had the unique experience of living in three different countries and seven different states. As a result, this time abroad gives me a very global perspective on health and wellness that serves me and my clients well.

My Personal Wellness Journey

When my son graduated from high school in 2013, I started a blog of encouragement for people struggling with chronic physical and stress related conditions. The inspiration behind the blog was my son, who lives with a chronic gluten intolerance and adult ADHD. As well, my mother, has been living with Parkinson’s disease and lewy body dementia since the age of 50.  Together, these things gave me a lot to research and write about.

As the mother of a child with two chronic conditions, I was led into an unknown world of health and nutrition that I had to dive into to help my child. Concurrently, as a daughter watching my mother go through the diagnosis and progression of Parkinson’s, and dementia, I was touched deeply by her struggle. As a result, I studied tirelessly about natural health alternatives. Finally, I experienced my own personal health journey through peri-menopause, a thyroid condition and stiff painful joints that helped me zone in on lifestyle management, nutrition and exercise in a real way and, praise the Lord, gave me complete relief!

Through these experiences, I learned the value of good wellness practices, and I saw little miracles happen when the principles of God-given natural health were applied.  This set me off on a journey to first educate myself further, and then to become a Certified Nutrition Consultant and begin practicing as a wellness educator. Tirelessly, my goal was and still is to teach as many people as possible about practical ways they can help themselves live a more abundant, healthier life here on this earth and have the peace and joy that only Jesus Christ can give.

Becoming a Wellness Educator

After home educating my kids, the teacher went back to school. But…. this time it was different.  This time, I was very particular in what I wanted to study, and it wasn’t something that just any school could provide.  Wholeheartedly, I wanted to study natural health and focus in on nutrition. At the same time, I wasn’t interested in becoming a dietician, so I found the perfect program and it was in the field of Natural Medicine.

Certified Nutrition Consultant (CNC)

As a Certified Nutrition Consultant (CNC), I could become a wellness educator and counsel. With certainty, I knew that this was exactly what God was calling me to do.   As a Christian, I found the New Eden School of Natural Health and Herbal Studies to be a light in the sometimes dark world of Alternative Medicine. Subsequently, I enrolled and after a year of hard work, I received my certification as a CNC. A few months later, I became board certified as a Nutrition Consultant through the American Council of Holistic Medicine.

A Focus on Chronic Disease

Additionally, I continued my education and became a certified facilitator for several evidence based programs. I am certified through the State of Georgia’s Atlanta Regional Commission to teach Stanford University’s, Chronic Disease and Chronic Diabetes Self-Management Programs.  As well, I am certified to teach two fall prevention programs including the University of Kentucky’s Bingocize program, and A Matter of Balance. I feel privileged to be a part of these amazing programs that assist seniors in our community to thrive in some really tough circumstances related to their health.

Currently, I am continuing my education at Arizona State University and I hope to have my Health Education Specialist Certification within the next three years!
